Dads were in full force this morning at Elementary Schools across the State of Florida for the first inaugural Dads Take Your Kids to School Day.
Dads were greeted at Springwood Elementary by Florida Public Schools Chancellor, Hershel Lyons.
Kids were equally excited to have their dads on campus. Lyons spoke to them about the importance of being positive roll models to their kids.
Leon County Schools has kicked off the 2015–16 One Million Book Challenge and #LCSReads Campaign. After recent approval by the Guinness World Book of Records, it was also finally announced that LCS has a goal of breaking the world record for parents reading to their children simultaneously in one place! The current record is 427, but we have set a goal of 507.

MY LIFE is excited to offer exhibitor space at their annual youth involvement festival, MY Fest Tallahassee. It is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2015, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Kleman Plaza to organizations that provide youth and family-based resources and/or services.
Florida is sponsoring it's first Dads Take Your Child to School Day on Sept. 30. The idea is for fathers, or significant male role models in a child's life, to take them to school to learn about it and what their child is learning.
